Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to edit a dissertation?

This depends on the size of the project, as well as the level of service requested. Typically an average sized dissertation (50k words) can be edited and formatted in 7-10 business days. We are able to process work faster, though a rush fee may apply.

How will I know which level of editing I need?

Cornerstone Research Group has no intention of 'upselling' services. We provide a free, initial consultation to learn about your dissertation/thesis and determine what editorial service(s) are most needed for each client's situation. At the end of the day, the client selects the level of service he/she is most comfortable with.

Does Cornerstone Research provide a contract for service?

Cornerstone Research Group takes business ethics very seriously. Each client chooses the level of service they want, and then both the client and CRG sign a contract that specifies the services to be rendered so that both sides have clear expectations. In each business relationship, CRG has fulfilled its contract to the satisfaction of every customer.

Is it cheating to have my dissertation/thesis edited?

To quote the Apostle Paul, "By no means." Many professors expect their students to seek professional editing assistance to ensure that the text is free of technical errors and properly formatted. The service we provide focuses on improving the mechanics and clarity of your content so that what you mean to say is what is communicated clearly on paper. Professional editing is a benefit both to the student and to his/her committee. We liken it to a jeweler who polishes a diamond so that it shines more brightly.

Do you have any samples of your services?

Certainly. We have a sample for each service we provide. To learn more, check out our Services page and click any of the links to see the apropos sample.

Will you write my dissertation for me?

Absolutely not. We unequivocally refuse to write content for academic submission and will not support plagiarism or academic dishonesty of any kind. We have already done the hard work of writing our own dissertation and defending it before a committee. We will not condone plagiarism of any kind, especially committing it ourselves.

How does payment work?

Once a level of service has been agreed upon and the number of words determined, a contract is signed by both parties. The contract stipulates a 50% deposit be paid for work to begin. The remainder of the balance must be paid just before completion. We offer many forms of electronic payment (PayPal, Venmo, Zelle) as well as by check. Please note that if paying by check, we will not commence editing until the check clears upon deposit.
